Our Packaging

WHAT'S WITH THE PLASTIC?

Let’s talk about the elephant in the
room… we use plastic packaging.

We realize plastic isn’t ideal, which is why we created a supply chain for recycled plastic (rPET) in Thailand in 2021. Since 2021, 100% of all our beverage bottles are now made with rPET (excluding the cap and label). This switch helped divert millions of plastic bottles that would have ended up in landfill. And, plastic harvesting like this drives a circular economy in Thailand where excess plastic bottles now have value. Another reason why we live up to our Harmless Harvest name! Our next step is to transition our sleeves and caps into rPET, as well…we’re actively working on it!

Another reason why the switch to rPET is so great? Switching to 100% rPET bottles helped to mitigate 727 tons of CO2 emissions in 2023 alone when compared to virgin PET. And as we continue to grow, we’ll continue to mitigate more CO2 emissions!

We are still exploring ways to deliver our yogurt products in a more sustainable container without impacting product quality. We are actively exploring paper solutions without plastic coating, and know this is a large opportunity area for our business.

WHAT'S NEXT?

We are exploring more sustainable packaging options. Transparently, this is an uphill battle. Heavier materials, like glass, would likely have a higher overall carbon impact because they take more fuel to ship overseas. Aluminum and paper are exciting, but we haven’t found a way to produce our product to the same delicious quality, quite yet.

Our ultimate dream is to deliver a coconut product in packaging made from our coconut husk.  Both mitigating coconut waste and the use of non-renewable resources.
